Hello lovely people!

Looking for some opinions if you have a minute please?

We had 2 of our hens go broody this summer and a friend gave us some eggs to pop under them - we know daddy was a Bluebell and mum from a variety of bantams

2 eggs hatched and it has been such fun to see them grow and thrive and to see the surrogate mummies teach them everything

Both were very similar when hatched - fuzzy grey balls of fluff but wow after a few weeks what a difference!

Introducing Belle & Sebastian - we were pretty sure the black one (Sebastian) was a roo so he has gone back to live with his natural family lol but every so often I look at Belle and think hmmmm what is going on with your tail feathers!?

Any thoughts please?

You're safe with Belle, she's a she.

Isn't watching a broody momma raise her babies just about the best part of keeping chickens

? I could watch my broodies for hours.....

Thank you everyone!

Oh it really has been a wonderful experience! Before we always had day old chicks under a heat lamp but gosh it has been amazing to see the mummies bring them up :love and so much easier!
