Kansaseq, basically what I'm doing is sewing coils of hair together. Keep the coil going until you have the size basket that you want. I do not use pieces of hair shorter than 12-14", it is SO much easier to use longer pieces. I tried to use shorter pieces (won't show anyone that basket) and, it can be done, but I really wouldn't waste my time trying to make a basket with anything shorter than 6-10". It is hard enough trying to keep the coils the same size and even without constantly having to worry about adding more hair to them.
