In my family, we only order chicks online to reassure that 90.2% of the time they will be girls.

But even that doesn't work. I already think I have one roo and I recently changed their name.

My roosters usually grow up to hate and attack me, so we just don't hatch them. I am still attached when we have to give them to our neighbor, for this reason, that will prepare them for slaughter. It's heartbreaking knowing hat something I had raised would fall victim to that fate. Even if they are mean, it still hurts.

Hopefully your socializing will have made them tame and kind in the long run. But don't be sad yet.

Not everything is quite what it seem with chickens. They fool everyone sometimes.
