Houdan's butterfly comb

I am working on a breeding project and want to incorporate butterfly combs from Houdans into it. I've looked at a lot of places and found the US SOP of Houndans have a V-comb while other places' SOP explain Houdans have a butterfly comb. Where can I find someone selling any eggs or chicks from butterfly comb chickens? Also, Would you have any suggestions for other breeds that have a butterfly (not buttercup) comb? Any site names or alternative suggestions (though really I hope to find a good stock of butterfly comb Houdans)? Also, how would making the butterfly comb work/ how was it created and what did it originate from?

The buttercup comb is actually a different allele of the duplex gene, D^c, not the same allele as Polish, Spitzhauben, etc, who have D^V. Based on the reading I've done, the 'butterfly' or 'leaf' comb of the original French Houdan is either also based on D^V with some other genes involved modifying it, or it's yet a third allele of the duplex comb gene. That means that recreating it would likely be difficult and I'm not honestly sure how you'd go about it. @nicalandia tends to have more obscure knowledge of chicken genetics, so maybe they'd know more on that.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with Houdans as I don't care for crested breeds like that, so I'm not sure where you'd find them. Some quick searching just now came up with mention of Cackle's stock occasionally throwing jagged combs that could perhaps be worked from into a more butterfly-like comb, but those posts were from 10+ years ago so their stock may have changed between now and then. :hmm Best of luck!

Here are some examples for reference of what I'm looking for, butterfly combs go diagonally outward whereas buttercup combs are much more pointier and go upward in a cup type of shape. I am trying to find some chickens, chicks, or eggs from chickens that look like the ones in the photos.

I was just looking at pictures, & honestly they look the same. I think the only difference is the Houdan's is based on a carnation comb, rather then regular single comb.

This is a buttercup comb, it stays connected and has a lot more and narrower spikes unlike the buttercup comb.

You'll get funky butterfly-esque and buttercup-esque combs very quickly if you cross a v-comb to a single comb. Just select for the arrangement you prefer.

We don't have any butterfly comb breeds in the US.
