Congrats! Beautiful!

Here's our Houdan chick all grown up! It's not very bright - gets stuck on the roost every morning :). Well a back shot to show the sheen, she won't hold still!

Very pretty. I have found their personality to be a bit "ditzy"as well. My girl is constantly on the move and talking and sometimes does some goofy stuff. Occassionaly we find her egg in the run for no particular reason.

Have found a fantastic "Houdan Special Issue" of a poultry journal from 1900. If no-one objects, I'd like to post transcriptions of some of the articles here. There are some nice illustrations too, which I have found helpful. It is a great look at what people in the U.S. thought of the breed, what they liked about it and who was raising it, at about the time the Houdan was really gaining momentum in the United States.

A couple of you may have seen that I have had a couple big changes recently.

First I had a not so good divorce and am back in the US full time now.
Second, and more important... I lost all my chickens. The current ban wont let me import anything, not even an egg...

In an attempt to re-start my flock I'm looking for fertile eggs to hatch out. I'll pay shipping on anything you can spare but for now only a few eggs will be needed. I think the limit is 6 birds in this area.
So anything you can spare, even one egg would be very welcome. Give me a PM and we can work out the details and any terms you have.

Thanks for any help in advance~
