Houdans

Pics
Here are a couple of pics of my babies.

Spike

They both went to the county fair and took 1st premiums but were beat out for Grand Champion Large Fowl, Jr. division by one of our Salmon Favorelle girls.

Zeus

I am fascinated at how much Zeus changed. My avatar is him, I forget what age, but his crest was so smooth I just knew he was going to be a girl. I didn't know to look at the nares (sp). Should have guessed. That nose couldn't be on a beautiful girl

Yes, the eggs came from Dr. Bramwell. We had only 4 of 15 hatch. I was disappointed because at 8 days when I candled, I only removed 3 that had no development. I don't know what happened with the others as we had 12 of 15 Favs hatch from the same incubator. We lost one of the babies to a snake and we have one extra boy so a total of 3 now. Chicken math

Are they fairly easy to get from Dr. Bramwell? I'm probably going to get eggs from either banjoe (if he has them) or Dr. Bramwell if I can. It is a couple of hour drive for me, but would be worth it.

He is very generous with 4-H kids (like mine). I have only met him once and I don't know his policy other than giving to 4-H. I expect if he has them and someone is looking for heratige breeds he would probably do it. I really couldn't say. His email is [email protected] He is very busy but has always emailed me back even eventually. I have been trying to give him updates on my birds. He always seems interested. I'd give it a try, the worst he can say is no.
