Wow, a big pat for your dog from me. I'm sooooo glad you were home and your house didn't burn down. GEEZE.

I was thinking of putting smoke detectors in the coops this coming year on the off chance that we'd have some warning should a fire break out. Your post makes me think that the dogs might hear it and at least amplify the warning.

Glad your dog warned you....it could have been worse! I hated that experience of losing our farmhouse by lightening...I can even remember the smell of smoke too!
