House Goose Thread

The geese have a little barn attached to the back of the garage.
The cats are house cats but allowed in the garage when the geese are in for the night.
The geese can come out of their barn into the garage which has the door to the kitchen. The cats used to love to go out. Now.. Not so much.
The peek out the door then try to decide whether or not to run the gauntlet.
Never a problem in the yard between the dogs and geese, they have plenty of room to get away.

What a neat set up! I have 6 dogs. 3 small ones that could care less about the birds, 1 min pin x that follows me everywhere, she has been pecked enough by the gander to know to be afraid of the geese. she is even afraid of my 4 week old pil goose. my two big dogs (pit x, pointer hound x) i barely trust in the separated fence. My birds cant fly except for the obe's but the last time they were out in the yard, one flew over a 4 ft fence and right towards the pit x. my dog literally sat there and watched her dinner fly towards her i could see it in her eyes! =) the obe's arent allowed to fly around anymore.

Piper so likes to come in that any time she sees the kitchen door even slightly open, in she hops.
Now that it's warmer once the barn and garage are closed for the evening the door is cracked open so the cats can come and go as they please.
Otherwise I have to listen to them screaming and I do mean screaming and jumping at the door knob.
I have wondered if/when something happened to Reebok and Oliver if I would let her be a house goose or get her a friend.
She is a lot of fun. Very personable and very talkative and very interactive.

Thank you! We are imprinted on her too. I got this shot of hubby snuggling her so I could race around the house tidying up.



Franki, where are you located? I live in Bothell, Washington. It would be so fun to get our geese together for playdates
