Philodendrons are easy. I have one that’s been in my family for almost 50 years. And Pothos!!! There are so many varieties and they are SOOO easy. Rubber plants/Ficus Elastica are strong ones too, really easy to keep alive.

I have a problem... Full out Houseplant Hoarder!

Well, over 200 house plants (50+ are babies to sell or gift).

My favorites are the basics: Spiders, Snakes, pothos, & aloe.
*I need some updated photos of the sunroom. I've got a brooder just outside of the sunroom, pine shaves EVERYWHERE and not picture ready.

It’s amazing what having a plant in a room does! Brightens the place up, just makes it feel happier. My mom is an enthusiast, but I do enjoy having plants around. We found that Aldi gets some really nice plants in. My mom actually came into my room yesterday and said”Aldi gets more plants on on Thursday!”
But this is what we have right now:
Pic one- mostly my moms plants, I have the mix of succulents on the far side. The aloe needs reported, it has six or seven babies that it’s grown on it’s own, the monkey mask plant got stressed during its last repotting and mostly died off, but has two new sports that are doing really well! Before it completely died off my mom decided to try and propagate some new starts and all but three took off! They are in the mini green house.
The snake plant in the corner is from Aldi, the one on the table is from Kroger. The leafy plant in the window is also from aldi, I don’t recall what it is called.
Pic2:from Aldi, I think it is called a dumbcane? It’s poisonous when eaten, makes your tongue swell.

I have four because they are expensive and I don't have a job.. currently I have a dying Madagascar dragon tree, I suspect I rotted its roots. Any ideas on how to bring it back to life?

My living plants include A ocean spider plant, Golden Devils ivy, And a Snake plant

When you take it out of the pot & remove the soil from the roots if you see any brown mushy roots take a sharp pair of scissors & snip it off just into the healthy root. If rotting material is left it can just keep deteriorating.

Pot it into a mixture that suits the plant which I believe houseplant soil is supposed to be good but I would mix with a cactus soil for better drainage.

what is cactus soil?

what else can I use for drainage? I need to save this plant today before it dies and I cant go to the store

would some rocks at the bottom help?

Cactus soil is a sandier soil mix than houseplant soil which uses peatmoss & retains more moisture.

Your houseplant soil will work if you take more care with not overwatering.

What kind of pot do you have it in? Does the pot have holes at the bottom?

Was taking my wandering Jew down to water and noticed it’s got a flower! I knew they could get flowers but never saw one before! Hhh I love it!

It’s on the side of the plant that is currently towards the window, which is why I hadn’t noticed it till now

Perfect that will allow it to drain.
