So I have heard of a few different household items that can be used as supplements for chickens and I was wondering if any of you know if they are good or bad for the chicks. Here are some of them and what I heard that they helped with:

Apple Cider Vinegar- 1/2 a teaspoon to quart of water is supposed to help with digestive system.
Banana- Little bits of it are supposed to help with electrolytes.
Powerade/Gatorade- Tiny bit mixed into water is supposed to help with electrolytes and I would think the sugar in it would give them energy too.

Do all these things do all this stuff for chickens and is it safe to give to chicks who are about a week and a half old?

they do work well with adults. young babys should only have their chick starter unless they are having problems. when i have a weak chick i will give it a bit of sugar water. helps perk them up long enough to get them started. sav-a-chick is like gatoraid and works well for shipping stress, shock. so yes you can give them, but only if clearly needed.
