Although I understand this is a chicken forum, some people should be aware. I have posted 1 political thing(it was a copy of an e-mail) and it was horrible. As far as religion, I don't go there. But, with that said, I do like to discuss non-chicken things every now and then. I am a stay at home mom of 6 kids, I spend any free time I can steal skimming the board. I respect many members here and try to support and help others. I don't go to other forums, I like this one

. So if something happens and I would like suggestions/opinions/help, I much prefer many members here to answer me, even if it's not chicken related. I think it's great we can talk about other things than chickens, and feel I have made a few friends here too. If you start limiting(censoring) what can be discussed then you lose the free environment(at least in my opinion). I like it the way it is

. Although I do think a warning should be in the topic for possible controvertial material just as people note *graphic* when posting pics that some may find offending.
For some of us, this is our *socialization*........

edited to say I also understand people come here for the opposite reason, to get away from everything else....

Ya caint go around gettin offended at every little thing. Its kinda like kids and "Yo Mama" jokes. Bob says that Jake's Mama is fat, wether he's actually seen the Jake's Mama or not, well then Jake gets mad and beats Bob's face in, so Bob's friends come defend him and get in on the fight, then Jake's friends, until you've got everybody fightin over some stupid little thing.

I am against such a ban. If you see something on the text saying prayer needed or anything you don't want to read then don't open it. You could ask that anyone wanting to talk about these subjects to be sure and put it in the subject line then those that don't want to read things like that could tell and just not open that one.

The one time I asked someone to remove their political post was on one of my threads . . . I know people all say ignore, but I made that thread trying to bring people together, not for people to make snide comments about politicians. Plus, I don't like the added paranoia of thinking someone could randomly wander in, start getting people's emotions riled, and get what was a perfectly friendly thread locked. I know, I know, post on a public forum and you run that risk . . . it's such a shame.
For the record, the person was very nice and reasonable about it and changed their post. I wish all people could be as big.
