How big of a quilt will 3yds make? (updated as I finish quilt)

Well that's my twin bed and I had 1 yard of zebra, 1 yard of black, 1 yard of teal fleur de lis. The border is from an extra sheet. I guess to cover the foot of the bed, bigger seam allowances and stuff you'd need another 6 yards (???). I used 3 yards except for border. It's like 5' wide and maybe 6' high? It just doesn't cover the foot of the bed where it hangs over...

Since you used large squares, you lose less fabric in seaming, piecing.
