How big/small is your town?

I'm 12,000 people, roughly. I'd love to live in a smaller town, though...

We live on an island. It's a 30-45 minute boatride to the mainland. There are 16,535 year round residents. In the summer it is estimated that there are over 100,000 residents. Plus day trippers and short term vacationers.

We do have facilities. Hospital, grocery stores, banks. There are even a few year round restaurants. No national chains, fast food, or malls. There was a big flap when the deli started carrying Starbucks coffee. "What is the island coming to?"

The town we live in is so small that our town (Fairplay) shares a zip code with 2 other towns (Mt Aukum and Somerset). Three towns, 1 zip code, and I can't find any data on the population of our fair little township. I can't imagine there's more than 500 people here, though, maybe 1500-2000 in the 3 "towns" combined, and that's stretching it. I doubt there's even that many people out here. We're pretty sparse. It gets thicker as you get closer to Placerville, though.
