How can I Make My hen go Broody?

I agree Silkies are the most broody. Often times Buff Orpingtons can be broody but the Silkie is the winner. I think spring time is when most go broody if they are going to. I have a broody Buff Orpington right now.

I have had many of my birds go broody. This is the time of year that they are most likely to be broody. I do use an incubator so I can plan my hatches. I give my breeding flock higher protein feed for breeders. This also helps the chicks because the parent stock is in peak condition. I have hatched most of my birds in my incubator with very good results. I have around 300 birds right now with another 300 plus eggs in the incubator.

I have a hen sitting right now but she is a bantam brown leghorn she only sits on five eggs or they go straight out of the nest and my other girls eat them

in my opinions bantams are the most likely to go broody and having a rooster helps even if they aren't fertile
