How deep can foxes dig?

How strong are red foxes are and how deep can they dig?

For there size, very strong. As far as how deep they can dig depends on the type of soil.

I know they dig dens (6 feet or more deep) along the dike on the lake by my house and its hard packed rocks and clay so I'd say they can dig good and deep if they have incentive,

I really don't know how deep a fox can dig. I had one dig under a gate to a pen several years ago and kill several birds. Since I put concrete under the gates. I also have electric wires around my coops and pens. I have been seeing a fox on my game cameras. Around 3 weeks ago I heard something apparently test the electric wires around midnight one night. Pretty sure it was the fox that I had been seeing on the cameras. It appears to be a young skinny fox, probably now on it's own and was after a chicken dinner. I'm not seeing it as often as I was seeing it.
