I have always loved the cartoon Foghorn Leghorn. Miss Prissy was an older hen with a son (Egghead). I was 39 when I had my 4th child - my only son. So it sort of fits.

Well that was a fun read, great posts everybody!

I actually initially signed up as compuchicken, but then I realized that most people thought I was a female, as I found out when using this site's chatroom.

So, I emailed a request to have my name changed to compuroo. The "compu" prefix is something I've been using for many years... If you care to read the rest of the story, go here http://www.angelfire.com/ma/ugo/index.html I forgot the password so I haven't updated it for a while, but you'll get the idea.

I'm banditgin everywhere - all my message boards and everywhere that needs an user name. I have found when I stray from this I don't remember it (the other name I use sometimes is iceynoelle - after two of my dogs).

Anways, when I made up this name I had two cats - bandit and gin gin. I had to put Bandit down a few years ago, still have Gin Gin.

i picked mine because i love guineas!

missouridave if you don't mind my asking what part of missouri do you hale from? i was born and raised in macon .

My name comes from my roots being in Texas, but I am now "transplanted" to Wisconsin. I grew up in Tyler, and Arlington. Moved here with my ex-wife when I was 23. She was originaly from Antigo, Wi.
At 28 we had a daughter. Her mom and I since divorced. Now I have joint placement of my girl, every other week for the whole week. So, there is no way I would go back to Texas, even though the rest of my family is all there. I have rather come to like it here anyway.
I do still consider myself a "Native Texan" and am very proud to be from what I consider the greatest state in the union.
My girl friend thinks I'm a little off for flying a Texas flag, and the Gonzoles flag at my house here in Wi. But, I guess being that she is not from Tejas, I just can't expect her to understand.

Lets hear it from all you fellow Texans.

I was so excited about getting our chickens that I took a bazillion pictures. I stored them in a folder called "We got chicken" and wrote an e-mail to all the friends and family proclaiming "We Got Chickens!!!" I was sending weekly e-mails with pics attached for 2 months!
