Can a silver pied bred to a pied produce a pied looking bird split to silver pied?
Or would this produce white split to either pied or silver pied?
    Also
Can you have a white bird carry pied and silver pied at the same time?
These are the things I ponder in the night.

You can't have bird split to pied, pied x silver pied= 50% pied white eye chicks, 25% whites, 25% dark pieds.

Breeding these birds together later should give you some silver pieds, but not when breeding whites together for sure.

It is my understanding the name silver pied came from the back feathers as they have all silver or partial silver on their backs and hens are silver where blues would be colored , that pieds does not even have any white in the colored eyes so i say it is an extremely loud pied , but unless you know the background you don't really know what came into play to get that pretty boy

  6. Every IBSP I have seen has Silver on its back, none of the Peach SP that I or @Bluecreekfarms have, have any silver on them.

Red card! .... Not very accurate all that!

All these "Whites" we are talking about are not any white!
They are white with white eyes.

"Do they breed true?: No, as is the case with all other pied variations, silver pieds reproduce with a 1:2:1 genotype and phenotype ratio. 50% of the offspring will be silver pieds, 25% white eyed, and 25% will appear white but will carry the white eyed gene."

25% white eyed .... dark pied white eyed ! not the same !

With the current knowledge this page is not correct... anymore !

Silver Pied X White = 50% Silver Pied; 50% White
All the whites ??? To make a SP we need two genes "white eyes" one from the father ... one from the mother!
So the question is .... what kind of white?

Dark Silver Pied White Eyed X White = 100% Silver Pied
All the Dark SP are White eyed.

" If you want to breed silver pied , you must breed from silver pied or birds from silver pied matings, (silver pied, darkpied white eye, or white)"

  9. Dany, insert any color you want before the words Silver Pied and it is still accurate. It doesn't matter what color, they are talking about patterns.
