Thanks! You are a good bird owner![]()
Ah, great idea! But I pay for everything so financial expenses are not a big issue and the mess, I clean everything she does. But I will try to convince them that if we get a trial period and see how that works out, then maybe they'll understand.Hi to you there!
You have got some good Ideas from the good people here, but if I was you, I would calm my parents concerns, and what are this concern? Normally adults do not want the preoccupation, financial expenses, and mess around pets in a small apartment. Therefore, you must convince them that the additional quails will not be a burden to them. You have to convince them that all the care will be done by you, and that you are willing to give part of your pocket money to participate in the expenses. And you should ask them for a trial period, and agree that if you do not stand up to it, you will be willing to give them up!
Well, yes but this one is domesticated and the migratory quails wont accept her. She can't fly far, the migratory ones fly over the red sea every year, she can't fly 2 feet. So I'll look into my options.Yes they do but it depends on the breed.
Okay, first, I am 12 years old. I am in 8th grade, to be exact, and I got the quail from an old butcher shop where there were live chickens and quail.May I ask how old you are, and where you got the quail originally?
The first thing I would try is making a diaper for your quail if possible. That should prevent any kind of mess. Secondly, buy your quail stuffed animals. Lots and lots of them. If quail are anything like chickens, they will treat these like flock mates. My chick was isolated as she and her flock mate contracted a respiratory illness. Sadly, her flockmate didn't make it. She was very lonely, and the vet recommend the stuffed animals as pairing her with another bird will cause the other bird to become ill, and doing this with chicks is vet irresponsible. She took to the stuffies immediately...she loves her stuffed elephant the most, and she preens it and snuggles with it all night. She's aware it's not alive but takes comfort in its company the same way a child would.
Getting stuffed animals, combined with near constant human company, meant that ALL signs of loneliness vanished for my chicken. This may solve your problem.
If you are underage, getting another quail against the will of you mother is irresponsible, and will cause more harm to your quail than good. You may simply be in the situation where there is no perfect solution. Be careful in the future of acquiring pets when they are prohibited in your household.
That being said, sitting down calmly with your mother and asking her to outline her reasons why she doesn't want another quail, then taking time to calmly explain that these problems will not occur, or asking her what you can do to help alleviate her concerns, is a good plan.
Haha yep! The wild falcons or the desert snakes or even the cats which live in dumpsters will get her.Yes I know, we get them after they travel the red Sea. ......
And send it free is not an options, she will be dead in 5 minutes!
Try anoter time tomorrow, try to find her in a batter mood.*sigh* I give up. My mom won't budge. My mom is telling me if we are going to get one both of them are going to have to stay in the cage which is way too small for 2 birds. She says "OH HOW MUCH BIGGER DO YOU NEED?" I'll try to get my dad on my side. This is a huge pain in the head.
