Handle them as much as possible, start hand feeding them, let them fall asleep in your lap, let any humans in your house and people that come over hold them as much as possible (so they can trust any and all people).
Hope this helps!
Good luck :)!

this is Hannah my wh, I got her once she was fully grown. She didn't like to be picked up at first but eventually she quit freaking out when I would pick her up, it took a couple of times of doing it but she eventually lost her fear of me. Did she end up liking me? Nope. She still didn't want to be my bff or anything but she was okay being picked up (only for a minute, exceed my time limit and I would be risking a slit wrist) wich was handy for putting her in the pen at night.

Hi, I’ve recently got 5 pekin ducklings that are a week old now and I’ve had them for 6 days and they’re still scared of me and run away or panic and scream when I hold them. I had them incubated so when they hatched they would’ve seen another human and known to imprint on humans. Any tips on how I can get them to imprint on me or at the very least stop being scared of me?
You can speak to them in a soothing voice or spend a lot of time with them so that they think of you as mom or dad

Make a little duck like noise when you give them treats. They will learn when you make that noise to follow you.

Mine are still a little concerned about the picking up part. Not so much total panic like it was two days ago. But 4 of the 5 are semi-ok with it now. The runt is still a little concerned. But when she’s the last in the brooder she easier to scoop.

Just stay calm, play music, talk, create a greeting that means treat and fun time. Try the treat without picking up several times a day. Not tons of treats... Like one finely diced cherry tomato with grit is for my 5 ducklings.

I’m not an expert with ducks by any means, this is my first time around. But I’m very experienced with animals. Dont show your fear or hesitance and stay persistent. I’d try tomatoes as well. Mine are ok with peas, but tomatoes are like crack to them.lol

Now, if could get them to stop throwing water all over the place 10 times a day I’d be in business.😂
I’ll definitely give it a try. Thank you :)
