How do I tame my killer rooster??

I have a big California White rooster that came in with my order from Tractor Supply, by accident but he's turned out to be a pretty good rooster. He only acts aggressive when I go to collect a hen, but that's what he's supposed to do. If he gets to close, I'll whack him with my plastic rack and then he backs off but he's never come after me. I think he knows better. :)
Dealing with any male livestock requires skill and experience, my rooster is a pretty good lad but even still he takes me on sometimes. This weekend he attacked my cousin, she was messing with one of her hens she is keeping at my place, he doesn't know my cousin and thus felt he had to protect the hen.

Of course my cousin got this on video and we all laughed at it... But it could be serious if a child were on the a receiving end.

I can’t even get started with mine 🤣 they are bad in a good way! They are so sweet! That they bring the hens to my door for treats and of course enter the house 😂 .

I just had a year old Rhode island red rooster kill a 3 month old hen, wth?? Seems the rooster was jealous because I spent time with the hen today my scent was on her and he follows me everywhere n when I'm inside too long he breaks havoc, crowing and attacking the other birds. I dunno what to do as my plate is full and am really saddened by the loss of the hen.
He'd make for some good fried chicken! :wee

Honestly folks, yeah my California White only came at me once, because he thought he was protecting a hen but like Ponypoor said, what if had been a child. If anyone knows me, then you know I don't tolerate anything aggressive at my place. They'll be culled in a heartbeat. I even had an aggressive rabbit that bit me and almost bit my wife. I'm sure yall can figure out where she wound up. Yum! Mighty tasty with brown gravy and biscuits! :D
