It kinda makes sense that if a 'burp' or 'hiccup' on the sun can cause horrible storms on Earth, that we should be able to harness power more effectively to power Earth

Why go to space for energy we already have the ability to harness from earth?

I am all for renewable power sources. Here in Wyoming, we have wind farms. Great, clean, always available (b/c it's Wyoming, as we consider 25 mp a "breeze" LOL).

Solar power would be great if it were more affordable. You can't get a decent solar panel without spending a fortune. Sad part is, most people could provide a good portion of their own needs just from paneling their roof. So danged expensive though!

I think space exploration is so cool, and is the coolest thing we could spend money on. I wish we'd stop having wars and start spending our money on exploring the universe! We have so much to learn!

This is NOT the right time to spend millions/billions on a space trip when the economy is in need.
