How do you get dried poop off a peeps skin

We noticed one of our 4 week old peeps had a dried boop build-up on the butt creating a swollen anus. I put the peep under a little warm water and was able to remove a lot of the build-up, but there is some left clinging to the skin. How do I get it off without hurting the peep? I would appreciate any feedback.

Alright a normal question and you were doing it right but you stopped early and if you have some Dawn dish soap it is best for this and just rub it in lightly and keep soaking till it softens up as it is plugging up the exit ans internal pain will slow or stop the chick from eating ......


Feed your chicks a hard boiled egg a day for a week for the protein niacin vitamin B-3 to help stop this ....

A warn stream of water and patience will usually do the trick. If there is some left directly on the skin but not currently blocking, you may have some luck with letting olive oil soak in and loosen it for a bit first.
