How do you heal leg injuries?

I have a couple of chickens that are limpy at the moment. A less than a year old turken has been favoring one leg and limping for months now but can get around and eats and drinks normal. Two days ago I came home from work and one of the other less than a year old chicks is now favoring one leg and she mostly lays down but will eat and drink normal. I have kept the two confined in the coop separate from the flock for two days to attempt them to rest, thinking it may be a sprain. There is no swelling in either hen or any signs of trauma. What can I do to help them get back to a mostly normal state? I’ve read they may always have a limp but I’m trying to get as much info as possible.

It depends on what is wrong with their legs or feet. Does there seem to be any numbness of the leg? Have you looked at their footpads and between toes for evidence of bumblefoot? Can you see any green bruising, swelling, or redness anywhere on the entire foot and leg? Do they put weight on the hurt leg or hold it up? Can you locate what part of the leg is affected? Are there any other symptoms?

With a bad sprain or a broken bone, it can take many weeks to heal. Lower your roosts to prevent more injuries. If they do not improve, you may want to limit their activity for a week or so, ans see if that helps. A lot depends on the area of the leg, if the injury will get better or not. Here is a good diagram to identify where the injury seems to be:

What is their environment like? Any chances they could fall from heights, come into contact with splintering wood or sharp pebbles? Is it busy with many things to fall or stumble over?

If you haven't already, check them thoroughly for any possible signs of injury, particularly check the soles of their feet for bumblefoot and look for green bruising or swelling in the leg up to the hips.

Do they have any feeling in the affected legs? Give their toes a pinch and see how they react. If you can, try to post a short video of them moving around. Are they 'dragging' themselves around or just avoiding putting weight on the affected foot?

I haven’t seen any swelling or bruising, nothing that would indicate Bumblefoot. I’ll try tomorrow to get a closer look at them but they don’t have any high roosts or any higher structures to fall or stumble off of. The turken will use her bum leg but definitely favors it. The other one holds it up but will try to walk and favors the injured leg. Not sure about any numbness but will try to get a better examination of them tomorrow.
