Medium rare to rare... all depends on who cooks it and what cut of meat it is. Yum... now I'm hungry.

You used to be able to get a steak "blue" in a restaurant...it was just like Marlinchaser indicated....just waved over the fire a bit to warm it up, bloody inside...YUMMOLICIOUS! Can't get it "blue" in a restaurant anymore, sadly.

Ugh my ex MIL liked it "shoe leather" and no one else did, we all liked it med rare, but since she was the boss ALL steak got cooked to death and we had to choke it down cause if you dared to ask for it differently she'd threaten to shoot you.
