How do you plan (if you do) to make this Christmas a little "greener?"

my 2 year old just dumped the bottle of green sparkley paint all over the table, herself, 2 chairs, and stool....yup, that's "greener," all right.

at least it's washable.

I pass out those extra "males-for-warmth" chicks that Ideal Poultry pawns off of on me when I place an order. One for each family member...

We just bought a string of solar powered outdoor LED lights AND bought two boxes of LED indoor lights for the tree. I also save boxes from purchases I make over the year. Shipping ones I mostly "reship" with. The PO must love me for that. I save all the packing stuff, peanuts, bubble wrap(when I can save it from being popped by the kid) and re use that for any shipping I have to do as well.

My sister and I decided to make gifts for each other (and our girls). I'm crocheting like a mad woman!

For my little girl I'm relying on Craigslist and thrift stores for her presents. I've spend less then $70 and I've gotten her a handmade wooden doll house, with furniture, a bike, a HUGE box full of Barbies (with clothes), and a tether ball set. At 5, she won't care that nothing is new, it will be fun to play with all the same!

I wrap yule gifts with colorful fabric.I never go to the mall.I make most of the gifts. And I give all of the losing scratch tickets to my sister in law cause she won $16,000 at the casino this year and is desperately trying to offset that for the tax bill she's getting (poor thing) she's gonna get hit hard by the IRS

Everybody gets CHEESE and cookies this year! We just got a Jersey cow this past September. There's noway 2 of us can eat all the milk goodies she produces.
Someone mentioned saurkraut: We had a lot of garden foods put up this past summer. So I might do the same. Thanks for all the great ideas guys!
