How has your mother's day gone?

Okay....Mine was pretty good on a scale 1-10 10 incredible and 1 Eh?

I have to give it an 9. My Boss gave me a rose. My son made me a delicious dinner, my daughter made me a card and my husband is building me the broody coop from Hell. He wants me to stand around and ooooh and aww at it! Truth is I could have built it myself and better. I appreciate the sentiment and the thought but it is frustraiting as hell watching him build something I could do a thousand times better and he is such a neanderthal about letting me help him. He has this backward notion that MAN must build and Woman admire! What cracks me up is how he knew I was independant when he married me and after 18 years he still doesn't get it that his trying to impress me with his redneck backward building skills just ticks me off not makes me oooh and aww over the shoddy workmanship. I should not complain but I cannot help it. I know this is his way of showing me he cares. I would appreciate it more if he would acknowledge my education (engineering, physics and history) and realize that I am completely capable of building this thing and it would be more interesting to do a project together rather than making me hold the used nails and hammer (he pulled the nails out of the pallets) and make him lemonade!

Anyway I appreciate the broody coop and I hope I can successfully move my broody into it before her eggs hatch and she doesn't stop sitting on the eggs nor get eaten by a snake or raccoon because in spite of me trying to relay to him about making the broody coop safe - he misses the point and it looks like it was made from all found objects and not in a nice eccentric way!

lets see now,
i woke up at 330am and got ready for work. arrived at 4am. worked. worked till 1030am, went home. kids and hubby out with his mother at a breakfeast restaurant. i had no one home but all the animals. took care of them. i remined the animals that it was mothers day, and to be extra nice.

kids and hubby returned home, with nothing. thanks guys

i did buy lots of flowers the other day, but i sure expected something!!!

i did make the tea food/ my mom was comming over for that about 1pm/
i cleaned up the dishes and did some laundry. not too exciting.
but then the best gift came!!

my husband went into the living room, which we have been renivating (sorry cant spell) and painted for me!!!
ya know, that did make my day. i have been wanting that room completed, and now its just days.

i love my family and they do love me. but sometimes its not so much the (items) i get flowers on off days from the hubby but its the things that really matter!! and getting that living room completed!! yeah!!!
