How has your mother's day gone?

I got up this morning and decided to cut the big (really big) limbs out of the oak tree that hang over the house. Getting ready for hurricane season. Hubby helped. After that I worked in the garden and checked on all the baby fluffy butts. Good thing I checked on them because one of the little turkeys was stuck behind the nest box. My DD got me some stepping stones for the butteryfly/fish garden. Hubby is doing the laundry, well he lets the washing machine do the work, then I have to fold them.

I did go to the store and bought an ice cream cake.

Something got my male peacock. All I found of him were his beautiful tail feathers. Bummer I've had him since he was a tiny baby his hen keeps calling for him - so sad. Did my goat chores, fed the two ponies and my heifer. Let the Silkies and Cochins out for the day. Started cleaning the barn & found my peahens nest with four eggs in it...I hope they hatch.

Making dinner now. Son and Husband went into town to get me a hot fudge sundae for Mother's Day from the DQ. All in all a pretty normal sort of day, except for losing my peacock.

Mine went pretty well. I got to go on a long trail ride with a friend today. Had to do all my chicken chores today, cleaning out a coop and 2 brooders

Thanks, Stumpy. I'll get over it - I always do. Maybe some of his mate's eggs will hatch.

Breakfast in bed (about 2500 calories, but I ate every bite - it's not nice to ignore food your kids made for you!). My 10 year old son made hug coupons for me, and drew an awesome picture of a flaming heart for me, the rest of the fam gave me cards and little presents. We had lunch with my mom and brother's family and now we're home and I'll clean up and wash clothes, and get ready for another week!
I guess I have it pretty good, I'm gonna go kiss everyone!

Best Mother's Day I've ever had!

Yesterday I bought me and my mother a tiller, got $70 off the sale price because my son is in the military. I came home to find my oldest son had cleaned the house from top to bottom, cleaned my room also, did laundry and put away all my clothes! All this after he worked all night and had to return to work the following night....and then he home this morning and made me breakfast in bed after working all night!!!

And it was good food!!! Homemade wheat bread that middle son had made, fresh eggs from the coop, grits and OJ.

He also gave me a new Ipod, a great card and big hugs.

Youngest son was at weekend drill with the NG, but gave me the movie Food, Inc. before he left...I LOVE that movie!

Middle son is building me a top bar bee hive for Mother's Day, went to church with me this morning and took me out for lunch afterwards.
