How has your mother's day gone?

Been sick with allergies so its front of computer and sleep alot is my day! I know I need to go over to my mother's and give her the cards...........I'm a BAD daughter!

We did Mothers Day yesterday cause DH left for Chicago on a work venture for 10 days. So, I spent the morning packing him up and getting him to the airport.

Yesterday we did Mothers Day, DD's Bday and DS's Bday since he will be missing all of them for this trip. DQ Ice Cream cake, presents and cards.

I was thrilled to get a (((RED))) Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer and a Painted Pony for my collection.

DH rocks at Mothers Day and Birthday. Other things...not so much.

Woke up @ 6am, took care of animals... laid back down for an hour... cleaned the house, and listened to my 8yr old try to convince me that Mothers Day mean's I work, and cater to him!

I have been fighting with the computer since 8:30. Finally about 20 minutes ago things finally worked and here I am.

8;30-9 on phone with comcast - they couldn't help
9-10:45 on the phone with staples tech support - eventually he hung up on me
10:45 - 12:30 - I packed up the new computer tower and brought it to staples - got another tower
12:30 - 1:15 - back on the phone with comcast still no internet - make an appt to have tech out on Mon
1:15 - 2 - cleaning computer room so tech doesn't get to see what it really looks like
2 - picked up 18 year old from work

2:30 - 2:45 - 18 YEAR OLD ACCOMPLISHED IN 15 MINUTES WHAT I WASTED THE ENTIRE MORNING TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH apparently one of the NEW WIRES ws defective.

3:00 seriously considering using the defective new wire to choke the life out of the guy at staples

3:15 I'm back at BYC and finally smiling again

Well , my mothers day went like this:
8 am MIL calls, if the kids don't wake me up she does! the kids for once all slept in!
did laundry,washed dishes,fed the pets relaxed
cleaned the kids room, washed laundry,cleaned the feeder room, cleaned the front porch animal area, checked on my garden
I realised a gardan angel was stolen from my front yard soooo upset!
went to the flea market bought a baby budgie
visited my parents for an hour,
went grocery shopping
came home and cleaned more
now relaxing

Well, so far, so good. Got to sleep till 10 am. Got a great ceramic handprint from my 5 year old son. DH got me a bunch of really nice solar fence post topper lights "So you can see your chickens at night!" I didnt have the heart to tell him they're all asleep and locked in the hen house at night, every night. I was just heart-charmed that he would get me anything remotely chicken related. He tries, but you know guys, sometimes theyre a bit clueless!!

Later we're going to a neighboring town to pick up a great little dog house I found on CL for $50 bucks that will make an unbelievablely great small coop. A great find!

DH is taking over most of the childcare for the day while I get to sit and stare intently at the 2 little eggs I have in the bator that are supposed to hatch today. Its only 1 pm right now here in Ca, so I have lots of time left to enjoy my day!

What I told my husband I wanted to do today: Get a pedicure and go antique shopping for a bit.


What we are doing: Seeing a kid movie and trying to find a place to go out for lunch.


It's so nice that he listened.
