Your lucky I haven't had any eggs in 2wksMy birds are enjoying the windbreak that I put up for them. They just don't know how MUCH they are enjoying it. I come into the run, get out of the wind, and I want to hang out there.
Two pullets laying. Will the third lay before the Solstice? Stay tuned...
Oh wow, that sounds like an awesome arrangement. I loved your other pictures you posted, might you have some of the cabin? We caretake a cabin up there and have free access in exchange for the work. Normally we just go up to work... like for years.
It's a fun little thread, it's just hard for me to keep up with everything daily on the forum with all the other irons I have in the fire. Trying to stay active daily on the Forum is like having a second full time job! LOLWow this thread came back from the dead! I’ve got a bunch of chooks I hatched that need to go to freezer camp and one roo who always wakes up on the wrong side of the bed. I wish he wasn’t so mean, he loves his girls. But he was attacking me too close to my face for my preference. I don’t want to be scared to go into my own coop. I AM excited for the fresh chicken dinner though!!!
Very beautiful Ducks, thanks for posting. We have a Koloa duck that looks much like the Mallard.
I can understand that, but once you hatch ducklings and fall in love with themWell, I wanted the experience of hatching something besides just chicken's.
What an amazing picture, thanks for sharing.this mornings photo from daughter on Oahu.Happy Sunday all!

All was calm, last famous words! LOL I currently have 7 young cockerels all together and waiting for chaos to start. So far things have been going good with them being all together waiting on freezer camp. This morning I had Bolt out who was doing great as usual. He is a good boy. I opened the run door so I could empty my kitchen compost in the tumblers and Bolt entered. All was calm. Girls, boys good... me wishing I had my camera again... for about 30 seconds. Then Bolt challenged Spider and we all went three feet in the air again. Ugh, too bad, it was a hopeful moment. I'd love to have 2 on guard. Just don't want the stress of making it happen.
