So my pullets, which are about 20 weeks old, are laying the most adorable little eggs and I'm so excited as more of them come into production. They are EEs and BLs. But I'm wondering how long does it take, typically, before these cute little baby eggs become full-size big-girl eggs? What's been your experience? Weeks? Months? Next spring? Thanks!

The two kinds of Chickens I've had, Golden Comets and Barred Rocks, get to their full size by six weeks.
What's amazing is the size difference between the Golden Comets and Barred Rocks.
The first year pullet Comets eggs average Jumbo and larger, 2.5 ounces and up. 71 grams and up. Lots of 2.75 ounce, 78 grams.
The first year Barred Rocks average size are medium and large 1.75 to 2 ounces, 50 to 57 grams, with an occasional XL 2.25 ounces, 64 grams. GC

Amazing! Are the Comets the ones with the short life spans? I remember looking at some that were real high production but they burn out early. Don't remember if it was the Comets...
