We purchased four yearling plymouth white rocks about a month ago, three of which were molting (actually almost finished according to the person from whom I bought them). And those three still haven't started to lay - should I be worried? Am I doing something wrong? Was I crazy to buy 1-year old layers? thanks!!

I haven't been through a molt yet (this fall), but my understanding is that it takes roughly six weeks for most chickens to go through a molt.

Since yours were molting on top of being moved it's possible that it may take them a few weeks longer to settle in and start to lay. Give em time... they'll give you eggs pretty soon.
