We bought our first set of 3 guinea hens from the local feed store and was wondering when they can go out in the coop area at night? There were not babies when we got them, but looked a couple weeks old. It's been 3 weeks since they've been with us.

Can I put them out in the coop (separate coop from chickens)?

They can go into the coop at any time as long as they are acclimated to the ambient temperature or are supplied with heat if they are not acclimated to the ambient temperature.

I start day old keets at 95°F and reduce the temperature by 5°F each week until the temperature is down to the ambient temperature at which point I stop supplying heat. They are often okay with the daytime temperatures long before they can do without heat during the night.

Thank you! I'm watching this thread because I have week old keets in a brooder with a brooder heat plate and a heat lamp. They are thriving but I worry so much. From all I've read, they are so fragile! They are in a stock tank with wire above. I'm sure they will start flying when I'm not ready!
