Ok, yesterday I posted because my 1 of my 5 week old speckled sussex chicks that is the same age as the others is about 1/4 of the size, not growing, or feathering out nearly as fast. Yesterday I noticed an eye crusted shut, and a little swollen. It had been colder the past 2 nights, but they still have heat...anyway, I separated her, and bleached everything in case it was something contagious (even though the others would have already been exposed). There were no other symptoms, none... she acted just fine. I cleaned the eye, and all that, and wondered if it wasnt just failure to thrive given her size and everything.
After cleaning her eye it still wasnt open like the other, but this morning, shes eating, drinking, like she was before (like I said, she never showed any signs of sickness) and her eye is perfectly normal as well...looks like her normal self...do I put her back with the others? How long should I keep her separated?
