I will be putting a skirt as well. We have a second coop we are working on building. We have 9 chickens. This one is not big enough. All of them are small so currently, it isn't an issue, but as we know, they grow like weeds.
Having a skirt can help too.We need to get a camera.
We are looking into them now. Also, researching a good roosting box design.Having a skirt can help too.
Yes, a small coop like that, the chicks will quickly outgrow it, but it can come in handy later for raising more chicks, as separation/hospital housing, etc.
Good luck with the new build, post photos as you go!
I do have security cameras and a couple of game cameras too. The game cameras work well so you can move them about to different problem areas to see what's going on.
Depends on who would be watching them for me.I have to be away and trust others with my flock. Is this hard for anyone else ?
Glad your friends did a good job and all went well!My friends did a great job. My flock looks healthy and happy. I feel like its harder to leave them verses our house pets. I am not sure why. They sent me pictures while I was away. I know I was told previously my rooster looks pale, but there are no mites or lice or ticks. The coop stays clean. I scramble eggs for him now, and he's always gotten protein treats. I am not sure how to help him. Blurry images. Apologies.
Well, I thought it was a hen, so I named her Bekah. Then she is a he so Bekaham. He is a Sweater Gamefowl.Glad your friends did a good job and all went well!
Get some photos of your rooster. I'd like to see him. What breed is he and what's his name?
