How long you were engaged till you got married???

We had two dates, were informally engaged after the third (meaning, we didn't tell family as they would have probably had heart failure), formally engaged after 3 months and married 18 months later (because jobs were scarce and the ones we had were not very high-paying. Neither of us wanted to live with our parents while married and living together unwed wasn't an option.)

We also had to pay for quite a lot of our wedding ourselves, so we made it simple, small, and it took a while to pay for what we wanted - no credit cards. It was worth the wait! 21 years, eight children worth!

We've been married 9 years but we have a 16 year old son. We've been together for about 17 years.

Met in April '89, engaged in May, dis-engaged in June He moved away 3 months later. I followed 6 months later. Moved in together in Feb '91. Broke up again in June '91 (june is just not my month) but neither could afford to move out. Lived in a 1 bedroom apt for 6months without talking (Honest) Made a couple more moves together. Re-engaged Nov '92. Married Feb 14, '93. Been together 17 years.

Omran, that seems crazy, but it was meant to be!!!!

I met my wife in college, dated a year or so, engaged for 1.5 years, now married almost 7 years!! She was the one for me.
