I came home from my first day at a new job and told my roomies I was going to marry my boss.
I don't think he'd learned my name yet...
We were dating in a month, knew we were going to marry within a year, but he's a perfectionist and kept putting off asking me until he had the perfect scene set up...which never happened, as we'd been living together just over a year when I got pregnant- six weeks later we married, about 2 1/2 years after we met.
I guess you would call it six weeks official engagement, but from the time he first brought it up but didn't actually pop the question, it was about a year and a half (cruel man!!).
We've been married nearly 14 years, and it's been the best one could hope for in terms of a relationship- the ups and downs of everyday life don't touch how much we love each other or how close our friendship holds us to one another.
I'm blessed every day!
My grandparents went out on a double date with other people and ended up married to each other 2 weeks later. They didn't tell anyone and kept living in their dorms for 6 weeks. They were forced to move in together after someone spilled the beans- been married ever since!
62 years later, my little sister eloped with a fellow she'd only known a month- ended up marrying him in the same little town my grandparents had eloped in, without having known about my grandparents' story!!!
