How long you were engaged till you got married???

We dated for almost 5 years before we got married, but started dating when I was pretty young. We were engaged for a year, but needed time to plan that big wedding! Oh, and to save for it!! We have now been married almost 20 years!!

We met at college in Jan 02; started dating in Dec 02 got engaged in Dec 03 and 6 long months later got happily married in Jun of 2004. Married for 5 years this June!!!

Wow! Some of you guys wasted no time. We were engaged for 5 months and dated for a year before that. We've now been married for 9 years!

Started dating in May 1994, engaged Christmas of 1994 and been engaged ever since so I guess its been almost 15 years engaged and counting!

Well, we had our first date on February 7, 1986. He asked me to marry him March 17, 1986 and we got married May 17, 1986. And yes, we're still crazy about each other.....or just crazy.

I met my husband in Centennial Park in Nashville, Tn on August 9, 1976. My sister was living with me and talked me into going jogging with her. I think that was one of the few times in my life I have ever jogged. Anyway I think I made it half a mile or half a block before I tired out and we plopped down in the grass so I could rest. Up runs a big puppy with ears that looked like grocery bags. A brindle Dane with her master running behind her. Well Abbey decided to stay and visit while he tried to get her to continue their walk. Finally he sat down and started talking. Asked me my name and phone number. Well I gave him my first name and number at work. A few days later he called me and we went to lunch. At 21 I figured lunch was safe right. Anyway I lived to tell about it and 3 1/2 months later at Thanksgiving we were at his parent's. He was in the kitchen talking to his mom and I was watching TV in the other room and talking to his dad. DH yells from the other room we are getting married Christmas. And well on December 23, 1976 we did. I think a lot of people thought it would last a year and I still will tell him we will give it a year and see if it works 32 1/2 years later.

We met in college (lived on the same floor). We dated for about three years and were engaged for one and a half years. It was important to us to finish college and get good jobs before getting married. We have never had the financial worries that a lot of newlyweds have; as a result, I think that was a smart plan.

We are coming up on our second marriage anniversary this summer.

I absolutely hated my husband when I met him. {Tried to fix him up with my older sister} plus the ice cream store I worked at he and his friends use to show up always and do bad things in the dinning area. Called the cops plenty of times on him and his friends. After about a year of dealing with this the guy I was seeing just cried all the time, everytime I went hunting instead of with him. He would never do anything I liked. Him and my sister got together and told me if I ever dated my hubby they would kill me as god as their witness. Things set into place then, I was going to do it for spite. Been together 27 year 5 kids and all my hunting butchering and raising and making our food we are still together!! Love Him

we had our first date in june 01, got engaged in march 2005, and are still engaged. havent walked down the aisle yet and prolly never will! Will prolly just go to the courthouse instead!We aslo have 2 small boys
