How Many Animals Do You Keep That Are Considered Pets To You?

I have 16 chickens (1 Cockerel and 15 Pullets) and a Boston Terrier.
I also have a 1 year old and a 4 year old!!

The dog is a pet. I try not to view the chickens as pets in case I ever make soup from one (the cockerel is on thin ice) but they all have names and it’s hard to draw the line

Hey guys, I was looking at some old threads the other day, and stumbled upon @chickenmama109 ‘s thread “How many animals do you have” and thought “Huh, I wonder how many animals people keep that are considered pets to them!” So, just for fun, I though I would make this thread!

The question: How Many Animals Do You Keep That Are Considered Pets To You?

We have 2 dogs, 2 rabbits and a dozen duck eggs ready for the incubator. Dogs and rabbits are pets. We’ve had chickens and some were pets, but not all of them. I’m pretty sure ducks will be the same.

I have fish/shrimp, four chickens, two quail, a pigeon, a dog, and several cats. They’re all pets. I used to have a rooster-only flock. When people would ask why I had them, I simply answered that all my chickens are pets, and that includes the roosters.

I’m planning on getting a lot more chickens, and hopefully not all of them get named (I will be very upset when they die)
