i live in Rowland Heights (county of LA) and I was just wondering how many chickens I would be allowed to keep since i have some chickens and wanna adopt but I’m scared that I might have too many chickens and they might have animal control come and take them from me or something. My neighbors haven’t complained about the roosters’ crowing and I’ve had them for over a year now

Since it looks like you live in Louisiana, you can check out the government website for your county, town, or parish. You could also call the local agricultural extension office And ask where to find the info or if they have the info to provide. Good luck!

Btw, there is a location forum on BYC. Look under “social”, then “where am I, where are you”. Find your state thread. You did post this question in the right forum however!

I believe in every state your allowed to have 3 hens and no rooster because it gets noisy for the neighbors unless you have a farm then the law might be different, that’s the law also in Canada, Toronto

This is completely untrue in the US. Each county, city/town, and sometimes neighborhoods have different laws. The OP needs to look into zoning ordinances for their immediate area - I don't like looking it up for other people as it's very easy to give out the wrong information as ordinances can differ from house to house even in the same area.
