0 at last! Then I read Ms Lydia that some of her ducks start up laying again in early fall after their molt. 2 of my ladies laid around 160+- eggs, and 1 around 180+- this yr. these Muscovy just turned 1yr old. Eee ho lay, it's not convenient to collect their eggs from their island, and a fat 4' snake lives in their coop, (I fear snakes) the 2 spots they like to lay.
1* I'm abandoning the open-air coop concept, (snakes & rodents) building a tight 3'x4' dog/duck house for the 5-9 frigid nites, bulldozing down their island, and rebuilding a compact easy to access & maintain mini-island. (I owe Canadianwind a pic journal of this.)
Collecting, giving away eggs, and being polite, (one must say goodbye 3 times when talking with southerners) has exhausted me.
