6/8.... got my first EE egg yesterday. It was a pretty blue with a over abundance of blue coloring at the bottom. LOL Looks like she is still learning to spray paint! My best Golden Star laid somewhere in the woods again. Egg #7 is out there, and she was with her barred rock friend who just started laying. So maybe #8 too, who knows.

11/12 the past two days.

thats better then the 9/12 i WAS getting. I am saving up for mealworms!!!! i sold three dozen this morning, so i only need to sell three more!!!!! Except i will probably wait a week or so so i can have some left over for feed and things.

Added light last night and early this morning. They were only getting 12 hours of light the past few days. Woke up this morning and saw one of my EEs flying over the fence and crawled under the uninhabited meat bird coop. I have a feeling she has a nest under there but she hasn't come back out yet. Getting my flash light and work pants ready to go so I can see why she is going under there. Otherwise the past few days they have been laying 10 eggs so it's getting better but it's still not great, especially from 24 hens. I'll post my findings from under the meat bird coop!

Up 1 today to 8/11. Is it the extra light this morning? Don't think it could work that quickly....was a very dark and dreary day today with serious rains. My husband used one of those light bulbs that come on slowly so the light isn't so brite all at once. Ha he loves the chickens as much as I do!

check to make sure they don't have tephlon coating, been reading another thread about toxic light bulbs !!!!! yikes!!! Hard to find regular ones is what I heard this is a new process and most light bulbs made recently are using it........

10/10 today !! I knew they were all laying but this was the first day they all layed I would be happy still if each layed every other day.
