Yesturday I got 9 eggs out of 14 pullets...waiting to see what today brings...4 so far...have had 4 laying since day before Thanksgiving...got 7 day before Christmas...who knows what today will bring.

Oh I see well then I've been getting 6/10 then to exclude all the new pullets that are not yet laying and cockerels

Marmalada - you are lucky, our girls have the same time as yours do out of our 12 we are getting 3 every other day or so. I don't think they like the lack of light much. When they got into laying in Sept we were almost getting a dozen a day.

i have 13 - and im lucky to get 2/13 now a day these last 2 weeks have been really hard

they started laying in july and ive been over run w a dozen a day since till thanksgiving

ive had that problem to! grrrrr even when i do get a extra egg or even one of the few i get - its frozen and cracked !


sooooo ..... outta 13 BR layers i got 2 eggs today =my egg business is on a wait list
my ducks though are laying just fine - 3 Pekins = 3 eggs a day = lotsa duck eggs - good for my households egg consumption and a few customers have switched till the chickens start again .
i also have 2 geese - not laying yet but should be any day now .
i think the chickens went through molt ? they were all very scraggly looking , not really hungry for a good bit ,and all but a few ( im guessing the ones who were laying still) they combs were all pink not bright red like normal .
now they are getting bright red again.... i hope that means they are done molting ? i mean how long does a break in egg production last for molt?
