How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

4/4 today, 1 soft shell again. Time to up the alfalfa in the ff.

I get them ALL the time they are normal and very pretty!

3/4, I miss the speckled eggs. Hope some of my pullets lay them.

2/4 This seems to be the norm for now. I'm not sure if someone isn't laying (other than my moulting araucana) or if they're just taking turns.

One of the eggs had one or two faint ripples in it. Another had spots. As we feed them both a layer mash as well as compost and crushed egg shells - I'm wondering if they're getting too much calcium. The compost is all fruit/vegetable off-cuts. No junk food goes into our compost. The worst things they've ever gotten were some popcorn that my son threw at them and a tiny piece of hot dog that was dropped near a hen. Other than that, it's the compost and the odd witchety grub that I find (which results in a raucous game of tag).
