They may be "off pace" for a couple of days. I removed the partial brooder enclosure, waterer, and feeder, which opened up another nesting box. The 6 week olds are big enough to reach the adult height water nipples and feeder with the help of concrete block "steps".

Oh, I did catch one of my 15 week Australorps singing the egg song today!

I got 11/10 today!!!!! Whoohoo! my Brown Leghorn is the first of my babies to start laying at 18-weeks on the nose!
(I "cheated" with the 6 Golden Comets and White Leghorns--bought they when they first started laying!)
The egg is SO TINY!!! We weighed it and it's considered a "Peewee" egg! I didn't even know there was such a thing! It's so darn cute!!
1.2 ounce egg next to a 2.4 ounce egg!

29/30 but one was frozen and cracked.

Yesterday was the shortest day of the year. It's all up hill from here. I doubt the hens will notice a few extra seconds of daylight today but who knows?! We've actually received 2 eggs three days in a row. Hoping for a third and forth egg when we get home.

LOL.....I know, I got high hopes over a few seconds more of daylight. I did get an extra brown one today though....but the total was still "meh" I saw my Black Orp go into the nesting boxes today, it's been awhile since she blessed me. Yes, all up hill from here!

I'm still keeping up with my customers, but I could sell double the eggs...high demand!
