How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Okay, I'm getting concerned. I'm not sure if my female duck is sharing a nest with my other duck, but there's 17 eggs in the nest right now. Shouldn't she start sitting by now...

I would take this question to the duck forum, there are more experienced duck peeps over there. I would think 17 would be plenty, but if she is not sitting on them, then maybe your duck isn't broody. If that is the case and you want to hatch duckling, then you would would need an incubator. Are the eggs fertile, do you have a drake? The egg nest is beautiful, and I see green leaves, you must be in a warm climate?

1 little red hen egg (RSL)
2 dom eggs

I googled Dom hen and the pictures match this little hen that lives behind our local feed store. Poor little thing has no flock and sleeps in the trees. The idiots at the feed store think she is a rooster. At least they feed her daily. But I'm worried about her, she is on her own. I have thought about trapping her and taking her home, I have enough isolation coops to isolate her and make sure she is not diseased, but that is still risky.

I'm glad you mentioned Dom eggs, because googling it helped me figure out what that hen is. I absolutely didn't know, and could still be wrong. These are not the best pictures, but it was as close as I could get to her. Do you think she is a Dom?

Update. Today was the first time since November 7th that we had three eggs (3 out of 4)...HOWEVER, girl #4 decided to get in on the reindeer games this afternoon and laid as well! 4 out of 4! First time all four have laid since November 2nd. Man, maybe they do notice a few extra seconds of daylight!

She looks more brown to me ....the Doms are black and white barred. Could it be a barnyard mix? She is pretty. It would be nice if you could give her a home where she would be safer and could live a more 'chickenly' life. It is possible that she is a dom.....my screen may not be showing the true color. Either way I bet she would be happier if she was well cared for.
