FWIW, from what I've seen and read (much of the latter on this very thread!) I think I can draw some general conclusions:
Young hens = more eggs.
More light = more eggs.
Layer Breeds = more eggs.
Less Change in routine = more eggs.
More protien in the diet = more eggs.
Keep them well hydrated = more eggs.
.....
conversely:
Old chickens = less eggs.
Relying on January sun for light = less eggs.
Ornamental or meat bird breeds = less eggs.
Change anything in their coop or diet = less eggs, until they get used to it.
Feed them scratch or corn in significant amounts = less eggs.
Don't give them all the water they care to drink = less eggs.
