Temp dropped to mid 60's with cloud cover and high winds all day ..

@karenerwin I have a good idea about my egg snatcher she is about 5' 7" tall and about 160 pounds and lives just down the road and graying blond hair and in her mid 50's or so and spends a few week out of every year in the loony pen .
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues. That's the worst kind of "egg thief"

Maybe you're zoned in an area where you can't use electric wire?
If it happened here...I would so be hooking up 1 maybe 2 strands of electric wire to a good, strong cattle fencer.
A couple good zaps getting caught in two separate strands of electric wire...she'd never be back.

I would not get along well in a city.

Well tired to burn the house down today I cook up eggs regular for the
dogs pulled eggs from garage fridge found 2 dozen frozen or almost
it is a very old mini it was on 4 but as temps cooled I turned it back to
2 brought the frozen in the house took the ones not frozen put them in a pot on the stove
walked out towards the chickens messed around out there came back in thought
the house was on fire was gone longer than I knew my BF cleaning around the stove but
could smell the fire smoke eggs exploded pot fried

so 13 eggs + 2 gave the girls some stale bread as a treat and promised myself to tell others
when i am turning a burner on

That's awesome perfect numbers!
Our 3 EE are laying sporadic with this new below freezing and snow temps. I have cartons made up for tomorrow sales and have 1 carton w one and 2 with none! No one even touches foot out of coop in a few days:/
Our hurt girls are laying again, one today and both yesterday. Our new girls are still recovering so in quarantine but 2 lay
Switched to 27% feed for winter per hatchery suggestion, they all seem to like it. Fxing is helps them

@mamatink7 I know! right? My hens all came out when I changed the first frozen waterers in the run. It kind of freak me out a bit from 75' away since I didn't see any chickens in the run, normally they're all jumping up and down seeing me coming out of the back door of our house. The last time that happened was when a hawk got in the run last year, no hens was to be found, they all piled up in the nests and behind the nests.

This time all the top of the runs were totally secured, so my heart was pounding as I approached the coop. Thinking what if a weasel or raccoon got in? But from where? My coop and run are totally secured from bottom up, reason I leave the pop door accessible 24/7. What a relief to see all of them in the coop eating and roaming around.

3/10-but instead of all being in same nesting box as always, 1 was in the other never used nesting box. I'm hoping that means another girl has started laying. Although maybe a layer decided she couldn't wait for that box to be vacant.

Oh, that's too bad. Do you have a plan to stop her? I'm not sure what I would do. I guess it would depend on if I thought she was going off the deep end again, or if she was in her right mind or not. I don't know, I hope you figure out a way to get her to stop.

5 eggs today low temps in the 20's
