How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

GC-Raptor:
Much more comfortable this afternoon, with 5 to 10 MPH wind and low humidity.
3/5 yesterday, 5/5 today."

Looks like your girls were more comfortable today as well :)
4 in the basket so far, 3 girls still in boxes. For some reason we rarely get eggs before noon.
My Golden Comets like to lay early, (get their job done early), so they can eat, preen and dust bathe. I found the five eggs just after 9 this morning. GC

We have large heavy heritage girls for the most part. It takes awhile to get their motors running. We added a roo this year and he runs them pretty hard in the morning. Once he settles down they get more serious about laying.

DLE140: "6/6 for the rir girls today"

Our RIR and Amberlinks are by far the most reliable layers in the flock. Rarely miss a day in the summer and very good through the winter as well. Orpington, SLW and Barred Rock are lucky to hit 4 days a week. Our new flock of 14 mixed pullets are about 23 weeks now and most have laid at least one egg. Will probably be next spring before we know their laying habits. We went for egg color in this second flock, and I'm guessing the Marans, Olive Eggers, Ameraucanas and Welsummers won't be the production queens like the RIR.

The rirs just keep on amazing me with their egg production 5/6 or 6/6 most every day and mine are pretty easy to work with. Today's eggs..........yep 6/6 again.

:thumbsup

A rare 6/6 on our older girls as well today. 4 pullet eggs also, although there may be more. We're starting to find them tucked into hidey holes along the run and garden. I may have to rethink our nest box arrangement.
