How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

A rare 6/6 on our older girls as well today. 4 pullet eggs also, although there may be more. We're starting to find them tucked into hidey holes along the run and garden. I may have to rethink our nest box arrangement.[/QUOTE]

Or you could lock them in the coop until later in the day. Then maybe they will have laid their eggs by then and after a couple of days of doing that, they usually get the idea about where to lay the eggs. Do you have any fake eggs in the nest boxes? Those help too.

9 eggs today from my girls.

From the days after my last post I got 14, 13, 8, 12, 14, 13, 12, 8, 11, 12, and 14/14 today. They seem to be consistent as far specific numbers go, plus they never go below 8 a day. My two Golden Laced Wyandottes are starting to get bigger and redder waddles and combs, so they should be laying in the next couple of weeks I hope. I wonder where I'll find my blind chicken Blue's first egg (GLW).

Yep, although we have an Amberlink that doesn't like them and will roll them out of the box if she finds them. I'm not sure how she knows but she does. We added 2 more nest boxes this morning and that seemed to help. The big girls will often sit in their favorite box together, but so far won't tolerate the pullets in with them. We now have 6 boxes for all 14 girls and today everyone laid in a box as far as I know. If they continue laying in the yard, will try the lock-up.
I have been eagerly awaiting an egg from our Olive Egger pullets. Today one laid as we were in the garden. It is a deep mahogany brown with a greenish lustre...not olive but very beautiful and reflective of the Marans bloodline in the mix.
5/6 from the older girls. 5/10 from the pullets.
