How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

12/17 today! My first dozen in a day! I had a little drama with one. She had a soft shell egg half out her vent and some poop caked on her butt fluff. So we cleaned her up and her vent looked a little irritated but not overly. She was much happier when we put her back out. Also - we painted our very first egg gold after I blew it out. Pics for fun.

Thanks! No, I still have my chickens. Around 30 hens and 4 roosters! Plus 2 turkeys.
I should have more time to check in once school is out. The last day of school for teachers in Missouri, well, at least in my district, is May 17th!!
Then I'll disappear for 2 weeks in June. I get to go to Jamaica with a friend from high school. She has been going every year since 2009. I'm really looking forward to the trip!! I want to 1) ride a horse on the beach, 2) take an excursion into the rainforest, 3) go white water rafting ( yes, according to the internet, they have that there!) and 4) go parasailing. Plus lots of walking on the beach, reading books, swimming, snorkeling and maybe scuba diving. I haven't been scuba diving in over 18 years!!

My hubby will be on "chicken" duty. Hopefully, I won't loose too many. No matter how hard he tries, some usually die or get eaten on his watch.
Also, some usually go broody as well. (I don't think he collects eggs every day).

You’ve inspired me, I got a Pendesenca a year ago. Considering I never knew what that chicken was, lol till I heard it from you.

Just soooo weird - camera time!

4/4 today (kind of) however wasnt' a great day - one of them was really thin shelled and obviously broke so that had eaten most of it luckily they weren't bothered about the other 2 that were in there so must have just been opportunistic rather than egg eating behaviours. So I was left with 3 others - the silkie egg, a normal one and yet another double yoker! Sadly my 3 year old decided playing with his digger and the double yoker was a great idea when I wasnt' looking so I ended up with a silkie egg and a normal egg
